Cool City

Have you ever been to a town that celebrates Christmas year-round?  You will find just that in the town of Frankenmuth- shopping galore, surrounded by Bavarian-style architecture and fun festivals that highlight the area's German roots, making this a very special place to visit year-round.

Frankenmuth is known for its addicting fried chicken dinners- German style. Check out two favorite eateries to decide your favorite- Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth and Bavarian Inn Restaurant- each offering their own takes on the classic German dishes that first put Frankenmuth on the map. This travel blog summarizes your eating options while visiting Frankenmuth.

Fly through the air, swing through the trees, and enjoy nature at  The Frankenmuth Aerial Park. Looking to solve a mystery, check out the games of intrigue at the Great Lakes Escape Adventure

Enjoy an old fashion riverboat cruise on the Bavarian Belle, a drive through the country with romantic covered bridges, or cuddle together as you enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through town.

Bordered by the Cass River, Heritage Park has an event pavilion and a riverside pathway. You can paddle yourself through the Cass River's calm waters on a self-guided kayak tour with Frankenmuth Kayak Adventures or enjoy wine and chocolate tasting on an electric boat with the popular Fun Ships Tastings and Tours

Frankenmuth keeps its calendar full of popular events throughout the year, including the Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival in June, where you can enjoy colorful costumed German entertainers and polka bands dancing on the streets, or Zehnder's Ragtime Festival in April. Historic Charm

Being known as “Michigan’s Little Bavaria” is something locals take very seriously. As you walk the streets of Frankenmuth, you’ll notice the Bavarian architecture, quaint German shops, and eateries, and you’ll experience traditional hospitality that goes back to German roots.

Check out the Frankenmuth Historical Museum, founded in 1963 after acquiring the Kern Commercial House Hotel (built-in 1905). Since then, the museum has been open to visitors all year round to teach and celebrate the history of the Franconian colonies.

Fall colors are abundant in Frankenmuth. Take a country ride, experience colors from the treetops with a zip-lining adventure, or check out the local farms where you will find corn mazes and pumpkin patches.

Winter Fun

Every January, Zehnder's sponsors the Frankenmuth Snowfest Festival. It's a wonderful time to bundle up to enjoy some famous Frankenmuth fried chicken, shop at the River Place Shops, and watch amazingly talented ice artists carve massive slabs of ice into submission!
