Adventures that await you, depending on the season, include: Hiking, horseback riding, dark-skies viewing, wildlife viewing, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, golfing (with 10 courses within 30 miles), fishing, ORV trails, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Access sections of the 138-mile AuSable River just 14 miles from LogHaven. In addition to it being a world-famous river for fly fishing for trout, it’s also an easy paddle for canoeing and kayaking. Liveries are available for canoe, kayak or raft rental with return transportation to your vehicle.
Similar liveries are also located on the Rifle River. The nearby Rifle River Recreation Area provides miles of river and lake access for fishing, canoeing/kayaking and hiking along with a family swimming and picnic area.
Learn about living off the grid while staying at LogHaven B&B. Innkeeper Paul Gotter is neither an electrician nor an electrical engineer, but he’s willing to share what he and Gail have learned about managing their home with solar and wind power. For in-depth information a one-day seminar is available.
Everywhere around LogHaven Bed and Breakfast is beautiful in the fall, but guests especially enjoy viewing the AuSable River valley from scenic overlooks in the national forest. Guests may take self-guided color tours by simply walking or driving trails and roads right from the B&B grounds.

Winter getaways offer a bounty of adventures, such as a nearby Ogemaw Hills Pathway, a wonderful cross-country ski park with 15 miles of marked, groomed trails, a snowmobile trail-head park with access to the Michigan Snowmobile Trail System, and local trails for snowshoeing.
Well-behaved dogs are welcomed for a small fee. Many pets (and their owners) consider LogHaven another name for Dog Camp! And then there's the pasture and barn. We will stable your horses at $20 per night for stall and pasture. You’ll have plenty of trails to ride and your four-legged companions will think they're in heaven.
