Pentwater is in Northwest Michigan, about 45 minutes north of Muskegon. Once settled in a Pentwater bed and breakfast, park the car and explore this charming village on foot. Everything is within walking distance.

On Thursday nights during the summer, listen to the Pentwater Civic Band on the Village Green.

There are several Michigan wineries near Pentwater bed and breakfasts. Find out what Bison tastes like at Jomagrha Vineyards and Winery, just 4 miles north of Pentwater (it’s a wine). Or drive up the coast to Krolczyk Cellars in Freesoil, near Ludington.

There are several ways to enjoy the waters of Lake Michigan even if you don’t have a boat. Have a scenic sail on the Irish Wake, or ride the largest car ferry to ever cross Lake Michigan. Rent a canoe, kayak, raft or tube at Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery, or just jump in the water from one of the beaches near town.

Everyone should go for a dune ride once in a lifetime, right? The dunes at nearby Silver Lake State Park are truly spectacular, and several businesses offer dune rides. Of course, it is also amazing to explore the dunes and forests of Silver Lake State Park on foot.

There is outstanding hiking, mountain biking, and skiing near Pentwater. Charles Mears State Park is just north of town, Cedar Point Park is to the south, and Pentwater River State Game Area is east of town. Pentwater Michigan bed and breakfasts welcome guests year round.
