Charlevoix

Charlevoix, in Northwest Michigan, is beautifully situated on the coast of Lake Michigan, at the north end of Grand Traverse Bay. It is nestled between Lake Michigan, Round Lake, and Lake Charlevoix, which is connected to Lake Michigan via the Pine River Channel. The loveliness of the setting is unmatched, making Charlevoix’s bed and breakfasts a destination not to be missed.

The picturesque downtown is full of art galleries, boutique shops, and fabulous eateries. The community is vibrant and engaged, as evidenced by numerous festivals and art fairs throughout the year. There is even a quirky side, noticeable in the unique stone “Mushroom” houses.

Book a room in any of our bed and breakfasts during favorite festivals. Try the Taste of Charlevoix, when local Michigan wineries and breweries pour their finest batches, and local eateries showcase their specialties. Live music accompanies the event. Attend a number of Art Fairs and Festivals. There is an Apple Festival each fall, annual snowshoe, nordic ski, and snowmobile races each winter, and car shows each summer. The highlight each year is The Venetian Festival – a Charlevoix tradition for over 75 years; it takes place for a week each July and features fireworks, sporting events, music and fun for the whole family.

From Charlevoix, ride the Beaver Island Ferry to Beaver Island, the most remote inhabited island in the Great Lakes. Slow down, and get in touch with nature here. From Beaver Island, enjoy scenic plane rides or cruises to remote Michigan Lighthouses such as the historic Beaver Head Light Station and Whiskey Point Light, on the north end of Beaver.

Our bed and breakfasts welcome guests year round. Come here for vibrant fall foliage, fun snow sports, golf, or water sports. Or just come to relax.
