Ask the bed and breakfast innkeepers about their favorite ways to get out on the water.

One of the largest freshwater coastal wetlands on the Great Lakes is Tobico Marsh, home of the Bay City State Recreation Area. There are miles of hiking trails through here, and trails open to biking and cross-country skiing as well. This is an excellent spot for bird enthusiasts, especially during migratory seasons.

Seven Michigan Lighthouses line the coast of Saginaw Bay, several of which are open to visitation.
