When the weather is fine, spend time outdoors. There are several golf courses here (great for cross-country skiing in winter), and a number of inviting parks. In Gallup Park, rent a canoe, kayak, or rowboat and float on the Huron River. Bring a picnic and a fishing pole to the Dexter-Huron Metropark – a heavily wooded park along the Huron River. Spend a peaceful afternoon wandering through the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.
