Built in 1914, the Leonard at Logan House was constructed during a span of history known for social change, prosperity, and optimism. The home was energized by an influential Grand Rapids family, The Harry C. Leonards. The Leonards had the unique ability to keep in step with the inventiveness of their time. The home's very design shows the Leonard family's down-to-earth class and love for their guests.

Craft Beer

Founders Brewing Company and the Knickerbockerare among several breweries that feature live music every weekend.

Cool City

Grand Rapids is known for its breweries, festivals, concerts, locally-owned eateries and museums. Downtown is just a few blocks away, with more than 90 privately-owned restaurants and clubs including the Tavern on the Square and The Eve at The B.O.B (short for Big Old Building). This is a town where you can stroll from pub to club.... from dinner at the elegant Chop House to a nightcap at Mojo's Dueling Piano Bar & Restaurant in two minutes flat after enjoying an afternoon at the Art Museum or the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, all within a few city blocks.

Historic Charm

Our bed and breakfast is located in one of the largest urban historic districts in the United States, called Heritage Hill. The historic district is bound by Crescent Street, Union Avenue, Pleasant Street, and Lafayette Avenue. The Bed and Breakfast itself is an historical Edwardian mansion built in 1914. The house was built for Charles H. Leonard, who invented the Leonard Cleanable Refrigerator. We have many pieces of history from the Leonard family in the house. There are two Frank Lloyd Wright houses right next to us, with one of them being the Meyer May House. You can tour this house for free on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. During Fall, there are many fun activities and places going on all around Grand Rapids. We have some great orchards and cider mills including: Robinettes Apple Haus and Winery, Klackles Apple Orchard, Post Family Farm, Moelker Orchards and Farm Market, Wells Orchard, and Heidi's Farmstand and Bakery. There are also haunted houses, corn mazes, and activities like: The Haunt, Forest of Fear, Witches of New Salem, Moonlight Manor and more. You can stroll through Grand Rapid’s beautiful parks and view the changing leaves. One of our most popular Fall Events is Art Prize, where art covers the streets and venues throughout downtown Grand Rapids.

Winter Fun

While Grand Rapids has a lot of city life, we also have winter ski hills and skating ranks close by as well. Come ice skate in the beautiful Rosa Parks Circle that is surrounded by shimmering Christmas lights and city views. Then go skiing/snowboarding/tubing at Cannonsburg Ski Area, only 20 minutes away. Abundant trails in and around Grand Rapids invite snow shoeing and cross-country skiing.


Grand Rapids is a beautiful city with the Grand River flowing right through it. There are many places to fish including the Fish Ladder right downtown. Reeds Lake is 10 minutes away from downtown Grand Rapids with a public launch to bring your boat on the lake. Lake Michigan is only 30 minutes away as well! Cute lake Michigan beach-towns close by include Grand Haven, Holland, and Saugatuck.
