Choose Hankerd Inn for today's comforts in an history-filled farmhouse setting on four acres adjacent to a 27-hole golf course. We’re located between Ann Arbor and Jackson and close to either. Call the innkeeper to check availability or to book rooms.
Our 16 lovely bedrooms each has its own bath. Some are located in the original Hankerd family farmhouse, circa 1885, which has been completely modernized.
Others are in a newer-construction cottage, and the rest in a faux barn, on the lower level of which can accommodate larger indoor events. Both have kitchens that guests are welcome to use.
We serve a country-style breakfast to overnight guests. Other meals and reception fare are available at additional cost by pre-arrangement. Innkeeper Janet is widely acclaimed as a fine cook. The kitchen, open to part of the dining area, is Houzz-worthy.
Unique experiences at Hankerd Inn
Many couples have taken their vows in our large gazebo overlooking the trees and manicured grounds of the adjacent golf course. We have plenty of indoor space, too, if the weather isn’t cooperative. And bridal couples have their choice of romantic rooms in which to spend the first night of their married life.
In addition to serving individuals and couples in need of a getaway, Hankerd Inn hosts many group events, including weddings, showers, retreats, quilters, scrapbookers and any other group desiring ample and comfortable indoor and outdoor space. Hankerd Inn has 16,000 square feet of indoor space.
Each room in the main house of Hankerd Inn includes period antiques and is named after the original Hankerd family members and reflects their interests and occupations. The family had immigrated from Ireland in 1835. Their fourth son Patrick had been a teacher but after marriage he turned to farming on this land, including the golf course. Patrick got involved in local and state politics, and the family also operated a resort on the shores of nearby Pleasant Lake. So, the current owners inherited a long tradition of outstanding hospitality.
