Bridgewalk Estate

Central Lake, Michigan

A stay at Bridgewalk Estate puts you in the heart of one of the most beautiful areas of Northwest Michigan. You'll be close to resort towns like Charlevoix and Harbor Springs and could drive to Traverse City for dinner or do a day trip on Mackinac Island. Lakes, golf courses and natural areas abound. Described by one reviewer as "a great find," our B&B has five rooms, all with private baths.

Cross over our footbridge, and you'll be taking your first steps to a relaxing stay at Bridgewalk. Enjoy our large yard, porch and a comfortable deck that overlooks a meandering brook.

Inside our bed and breakfast, the atmosphere is one of casual elegance. A lumber baron built the home with the richness of high ceilings and woodwork of cherry, mahogany and birds-eye maple. The innkeepers have furnished the home in the comfortable, relaxed yet upscale manner.

The shops of Charlevoix are 30 minutes away and Harbor Springs, an hour.

Unique experiences at Bridgewalk Estate

Ahh, where to begin. The brook in the yard( 1 minute walk), the Chain of Lakes, starting with Intermediate Lake (2 blocks), beautiful Torch Lake ( 5 minutes), Lake Michigan (10 minutes). A great place to hike is the 18-mile Jordan River Valley Pathway. Kayaking, boating paddle boarding and windsurfing are available on Torch Lake. Hiking and mountain biking at Glacial Hills. Let Bridgewalk Estate be your home base while you conquer some of the 20 golf courses within 20 miles of Central Lake.

Natural Wonders

Lose yourself in one of our nearby nature preserves, including Grass River Natural Area, which Traverse magazine called one of the "top ten Northern Michigan summer escapes.” Scenic drives, quiet beaches and panoramic sunsets are all near by. Take day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mackinac Island.

Craft Beer

Most of our guests enjoy a stop at Short's Brewery during their stay, just a 10-minute drive. We are always happy to send our guests off with a map of other breweries in the area and suggestions for overlooks, shopping and dining.

Wine Trail

So many wine trails and so little time. We provide maps. Our busiest guests purchased 56 bottles in three days.

Disclaimer, I am not a chef and have not received awards, but I enjoy preparing breakfast. Our guests usually leave the dining room with a smile and an empty plate.

Cool City

Tell us what you like to do and we will direct you to some of the many quaint villages, small towns, or coastal cities near by such as Central Lake, Bellaire, Alden, Elk Rapids, Charlevoix and Traverse City.

Fall is spectacular in Northern Michigan and we enjoy directing our guests to our favorite spots. Highlights: A scenic drive to take in the brilliant colors, accesses to public beaches that are infrequently used or a trip to King Orchards for our favorite cider.
