This 1912 home has a rich history. So does Albion, some of it eye-opening. Ask the innkeepers about The Purple Gang, a group of 1920s and ‘30s gangsters who took a liking to the town.
Among the many five-star reviews of Albion Heritage B&B on TripAdvisor, you’ll find this one from a first-time B&B goer: “I was visiting Albion College for work, and rather than find a drab chain motel in a town nearby, I went for the homier approach. I am so glad I did. I was greeted warmly and was immediately asked if there were any breakfast items I didn't prefer. I actually don't eat eggs much, and they were happy to accommodate me.
“The room I stayed in was huge and had a large heart-shaped jetted tub. Despite being a solo traveler, I enjoyed this touch quite a bit.
“I loved that they had snacks available in the hallway, as I had been driving all night and there wasn't anywhere open nearby to get dinner. Breakfast the next morning was wonderfully cooked blueberry pancakes and bacon. I could smell the bacon cooking in my room and it called me down to the table immediately.”
Unique experiences at Albion Heritage B&B
Downtown Albion is undergoing transformation of epic proportions. Our Bohm Theatre won a governor's prize for historic preservation in 2015, and we have just opened a second screen next door. In addition to film, we are becoming known for Blues at the Bohm and Open Mic night. Our main avenue is a national historic district with a brick street, which is currently undergoing reconstruction.
