The Hankerd Inn is definitely a great get-away destination. From the innkeeper’s friendly and welcoming reception to enjoying the evening — sipping local wines from the nearby Lone Oak and Sandhill Crane wineries while watching the sunset from the deck — we were warmly treated. The country setting, so conveniently located in Pleasant Lake between Lansing, Jackson and Ann Arbor, is beautiful. The accommodations are excellent. Breakfasts are delicious.
The friendliness and atmosphere at the Hankerd Inn B&B were far superior to our top-of-the-line motel accommodations the nights before in Charlevoix. And that is despite the fact that the motel was pleasant, comfortable and enjoyable. There is simply a marked difference when staying at a nice bed and breakfast like the Hankerd Inn. It’s more personal, relaxing and intimate. You get a feeling of welcome you don’t get at a hotel or motel.
We had originally planned to stay just one night as we returned home to Ohio from Northern Michigan. But we enjoyed the B&B experience so much, we stayed an additional day!
