Guest Describes Stay at At Willow Pond “Just Beautiful!”

A Guest Review by
Christina S. of Indianapolis

A stay at the At Willow Pond Bed and Breakfast is an experience I embrace. I have stayed a total of three times and each time have felt valued and appreciated as a guest. Every experience has been special and made just for me.

The first time I stayed here was with my husband for our anniversary. We have a very strict vegan diet and I have some food allergies. The willingness and ambition of our Innkeepers to learn about our lifestyle choice was most impressive. Claire went out of her way to learn how to prepare, cook, and bake the  tastiest treats and breakfasts I have ever eaten!

A-foot or horseback -- either works at At Willow Pond.

Our stay was “custom made” for us. We enjoyed life at our pace. We were able to go horseback riding, ride around in the paddle boat, watch the ducks float around the pond, relax in the hot tub and focus on our time together. Our innkeepers’ warmth and fellowship was endearing. It  was nice visiting and getting to know one another.

Our second stay was for our next wedding anniversary which happened to be our tenth. Our Innkeepers worked with my husband to make our anniversary night very special and romantic. A candlelit dinner prepared just for us and served on the shore of the pond was most memorable: breakfast in bed was a really nice experience.

My third stay was this year from February 4th through 7th.  This time, I brought my two teenaged daughters (ages 14 and 16) so we could escape the craziness of the Superbowl being hosted in our home city. This was a fun weekend with my girls I will always treasure. Again, a vegan diet was lovingly prepared. The girls loved dipping into the always-full  jar of fresh, home-made cookies. We enjoyed playing on the pond in the paddle boat and taking advantage of a beautiful warm spell for that time of year. And we loved visiting with our Innkeepers.

At Willow Pond

My youngest daughter loves chickens and ducks and enjoyed gathering eggs from the hen house. We watched the ducks play and swim. We watched the horses play in the pasture. We soaked in the hot tub, and wow!…. we had such an awesome time we had to stay an extra day! We played ping pong and darts. read and relaxed by the fireplace and watched television together in our beautiful suite.

To sum up our stay At Willow Pond is practically impossible, but the best single word I can use is PERSONAL…  Every stay here for me has been a personal experience. Each visit I discover new things to do whether it’s something fun or just relaxing by the pond, laying in the hammock reading a book or visiting with fellow guests over breakfast. And I appreciate the internet immensely!

These Innkeepers truly make me feel valued as a person and a guest rather that the traditional customer you may be treated as at a hotel or motel. The prices are very reasonable and you just get so much (breakfast, endless supply of cookies, drinks, atmosphere, etc.) I have been able to experience both romance and family time here. Its just beautiful!
