Lakes, rivers, bays, forests, and beaches—that’s what Michigan residents are referring to when they use the term “up north”. Hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, swimming, and skiing opportunities are abundant here in Northeast Michigan. Let’s not forget the plentiful mountain bike trails: The Black Mountain Ramble, which, incidentally, is actually a flat area, is 35 miles long. There’s also the roller-coaster Chippewa Hills Pathway, and many others. While traveling through Northeast Michigan, you’ll certainly want to take a break in some of our enchanting villages and towns along the way. Golf and skiing are the center attractions in the town of Gaylord, and if you’re in training, you’ll want to see the annual Memorial Day Mackinac Bridge Run in Mackinaw City. Time spent here in Northeast Michigan will create memories you will revisit over and over again.
