| National City , Michigan , is a holy place to the native Americans in the area. Located thirty feet above the AuSable River, the view is tremendous here along the River Road. There are 294 steps from the top of the observation deck, down to a mystical spot where cold water streams are formed by underground springs merging. Here at National City, visitors can enjoy the Iargo Springs, the Lumberman’s Monument Visitor Center, or the Yankee Air Museum, which is dedicated to restoring historic aircraft. Antique shopping and golfing are also available in National City. Some attractions found just outside of our town are the warm, sunny Lake Huron beaches, and the Tawas Point Lighthouse. Try some mini golfing, rent a canoe, or check to see if the Sand Lake Festival is happening. The concerts and ski trails at Corsair are always a popular destination. Looking to learn something new? Let’s tour the Tawas Historical Indian Museum, and then the Tuttle Marsh Wildlife Refuge. We can see why the native Americans knew that this was a very special place. |
