Wyandotte

Wyandotte's history begins in the early 1730's when a remnant tribe of the Huron Indians, called the Wendot or Wyandot Indians, settled on the banks of the Detroit River. It’s easy to see why they settled and why residents and guests still visit! With a historic downtown Wyandotte is a charming mix of the new and the old. Those looking for a unique location to get married may want to consider the Wyandotte Museum for a ceremony in Victorian splendor. The highlight of summer is the Street Air Fair held every year in July and voted by the Detroit News as one of Michigan’s Best. A boat ramp features a family friendly store and access for boats and kayaks on the river. Wyandotte Shores Golf Course nine holes of golf with great views of the river and the city. Living history encampments, Craft fair and historic building tours are just a few of the features that draw many visitors to the downriver Wyandotte area for a family oriented celebration of cultural heritage, Heritage Days is held in September every year. Visit Wyandotte anytime of year for shopping, events, riverviews or just to getaway!
