Ypsilanti
A college town in Washtenaw County, Ypsilanti is located along the Huron River, at the location of a native American burial ground, and was a French trading post at one time. The town is named after a Greek patriot. Ypsilanti is the home of the very first A&P store, which opened in 1936. Whether you’re on a relaxing Michigan vacation, or preparing to enroll your son or daughter at Cleary College or Eastern Michigan University, you’ll want to experience the hospitality and personal service of a Michigan Bed and Breakfast Inn. A stay at one of our inns is so much more than simple lodging. The railroad, the Ypsilanti Seminary, the Michigan Normal School, water power, auto manufacturing, wartime production…all contributed to making Ypsilanti what it is today. After shopping at the Ford Gallery, or at Depot Town or Downtown Ypsilanti, check out Makielski Berry Farm and Wilard’s Orchards & Country Fair. If you’re looking to burn off some energy in the outdoors, the Rolling Hills County Park, Hickory Creek, or the golf courses at Hickory Woods and Green Oaks are just what you’re seeking. Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Collection & Miller Motors Hudson, the Michigan Firehouse Museum, the Riverside Arts Center—so many interesting places to tour—the Frenchmen at the trading post could never have imagined Ypsilanti today. One question: how will you ever choose from the dozens of restaurants right within the city of Ypsilanti?
